Recognised Offshore Fund Management Companies

There are different types of offshore funds recognised by the UK Financial Services Authority under Sections 86, 87 and 88 of the Financial Securities Act.

Section 86 funds all have compensation schemes broadly equivalent to the UK Investors Compensation Scheme. The Financial Services Authority categorises offshore funds as the following types: OOEI Offshore Open Ended Investment Company. SICAV Societé d'Invetissement à Capital Variable. UF Umbrella Fund. OUT Offshore Unit trust. OFCP Offshore Fonds Communs Placements. OM Offshore Miscellaneous. OSIC Offshore Investment Company.
