ATFX has announced a significant strategic investment in Spark Systems, a Singapore-based eFX trading platform, as part of its broader efforts to expand its institutional services.

The investment, which comes through a Series C funding round, will enable ATFX to deepen its presence in the Asian market and strengthen its global offering in the foreign exchange (FX) trading sector.

Spark Systems, known for its advanced electronic trading platforms, has attracted backing from major global financial institutions, including Citibank and HSBC, alongside leading venture capital firms. This new partnership is expected to bring a host of synergies between the two firms, particularly in leveraging ATFX Connect’s liquidity pool through Spark Systems’ infrastructure. ATFX Connect is the institutional arm of ATFX.

“This investment aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy to enhance institutional services and drive innovation in the eFX sector,” said Joe Li, Group Chairman of ATFX. “We believe this collaboration will benefit both organisations, allowing us to offer improved trading solutions, particularly for our clients in Asia.”

Joo Seng Wong, Founder and CEO of Spark Systems, welcomed the investment as a step towards further enhancing the company’s trading capabilities.

“This partnership marks a milestone in our mission to deliver exceptional trading solutions,” said Wong. “By working with ATFX, we will be able to offer clients enhanced liquidity access and advanced trading tools.”

ATFX has positioned itself as a leader in financial trading, continually investing in its trading infrastructure to offer cutting-edge solutions for clients worldwide. This investment in Spark Systems represents the latest in a series of strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering its presence in key global markets, particularly in Asia.

The partnership will integrate ATFX Connect’s liquidity with the Spark Systems’ platform. ATFX Connect caters to institutional clients, including hedge funds, asset managers, and Tier 1 banks, providing access to an array of trading services across multiple asset classes such as spot FX, non-deliverable forwards (NDFs), indices, commodities, and precious metals.

ATFX is a global fintech broker, offering trading services in 23 locations worldwide. The firm is regulated by authorities such as the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

Spark Systems is a leading provider of high-speed, institutional-grade trading platforms. The company’s platform connects with top global FX liquidity providers and is designed to serve both buy-side and sell-side clients. Spark Systems has secured backing from global and regional investors, positioning itself for sustained growth in the FX market.

The partnership between ATFX and Spark Systems is expected to further enhance both companies’ competitive edge in the fast-growing eFX trading industry, benefiting clients globally.
